Compressor service programs

Servicing compressors is a critical aspect of compressor maintenance to ensure they operate efficiently, safely, and have a long service life.

General Guidelines:

• Daily to Weekly: Perform basic checks and inspections such as looking for leaks, checking oil levels, and monitoring temperature and pressure readings.
• Monthly: More thorough checks, including filter status, and safety system checks.
• Annually: Visual inspection of compressor, auxiliary systems, special tools
  and spare parts; Check operational records, alarms and events log; Adjust operational settings as necessary
• Minor overhaul: Inspection of bearings, seals, and couplings. Instrumentation function and alignment checks are also performed. Components are replaced based on their condition. 
• Major overhaul: Complete overhaul of compressor internals, including disassemble, clean, inspect, repair and replace components on conditions, reassemble the compressor for re-commissioning.
  
  

The frequency at which a compressor should be serviced depends on several factors, including the type of compressor (reciprocating, centrifugal compressors), its usage intensity (heavy use, moderate use, light use), the environment in which it operates (harsh environment or clean environment), criticality of the operation and the manufacturer's recommendations.
