1907: Japan’s first three phase AC power plant, the Komahashi hydroelectric power station, starts operation. The main contractor Siemens Energy delivers 5+1 generating sets (each with 3.900 kVA capacity, 50 Hz generators).
1926: First pumped-storage power plant. The 43-MW Schwarzenbachwerk hydroelectric power plant in Germany is built as the first pumped-storage power plant. Two Pelton turbines are used for power generation equipped with Siemens Energy generators (23 MVA, 500 rpm each).
1928: First remote operation and monitoring of a hydroelectric power plant. The Affoldern hydroelectric power plant in Germany is the first power plant in the world to incorporate remote operation and monitoring capabilities.
1929: Electrification of the Free State of Ireland. Siemens Energy receives the order from the Free State of Ireland for electrification of the entire country. Using the name "Shannon Electric Scheme," Siemens Energy delivers high- and medium-voltage transmission lines and switchgear. Siemens Energy also delivers the turnkey Ardnacrusha power plant with 3x21 MW of power.
